Spectating and minors?

If you are a parent/carer that has NOT purchased a spectator ticket for the event, you will need to speak to your club instructors, as all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian over 18 years of age.

What is this event?

This new and exciting event is aimed at giving seminars and interactive workshops to aid a whole host of topics from planning lessons to how to compete, for both junior and senior students of all ages and ranks. Giving a more grass route level to Kenpo Karate competition and giving a little bit more responsibility to the younger brown and black belts. With the idea being that it can give less experienced students a chance to learn about competing and give it a go, in a friendly and supportive environment but give more experienced students and instructors a chance to showcase their skills and inspire the students behind them. Which hopefully in turn will increase the confidence levels for everyone to then attend the main IKKA European Championships.

We also aim to use this event to run some referee courses, trial out any new ides or changes to IKKA Europe competition rules and to give a platform for teaching higher level instructors but also to the TNG group or less experienced instructors. There will be a whole host of seminars across various topics and some sit down workshops with many highly experienced instructors leading the way and teaching slots available to all including those younger TNG aged students too.

This event has come together after Sinead Byrne of Kenbu Dojo and Dawn Venton of Jersey Kenpo got chatting about wanting more opportunities in the year for their students to get together and as instructors to train together and support each other. Sinead is one of the head representatives of the TNG group and so both thought it best to put something together to suit the whole of IKKA Europe and its members, to keep the flame burning bright for the generations to come. This event is open to everyone, regardless of association, organisation or style. Please get in touch and come and join the fun and learning.
